SunOS 4.1.4 <-> psf <-> Solaris 2.6
obviously i did something wrong, but i don't know what...
My origianl question comes again at the end.
Casper Dik <casper@holland.sun.com> asked me whether i've checked
with "diff". Of course i did and did not see anything...
But to have a clear starting point i again cleaned off my psf-installation
and started over from scratch... and now it is working...
and -honest!- i don't know why, but -see above- obviously i did something
wrong..
Thank you all again,

Here is my original question:
>Hello managers,>>psf is a print filter utility, to print ascii on ps-printers.>I like it, because it's the only utility i know of, where i print>X lines of length Y on one page, with X and Y being any numbers i like.>(e.g. 85 lines of length 121 characters.)>>I have psf-3.6 (from 1992!) and can't find it any more on the net.>First question: Does any of you know, where this utility is hosted today?>>Recently i changed fron Digital to Sun Environment (new job) and tried>to install psf here. I could install it without problems under>SunOS 4.1.4 and use it as i'm used to.>>But whatever i tried to install it under Solaris 2.6, i failed.>It compiles without errors (sun-cc and gcc-2.7.2), the executables>are built fine and i could run them without errors. The result looks to>my eyes as a correct ps-file (i don't know much about postscript>aside from the starting magic "%!" and the "showpage" or "Cntl_D" i need>to "see" something).>>But when i try to print this file or to display it with ghostscript>(via xv or ghostview) the result is only a blank white page (or many of them).>And the "showpage" IS, where it should be!>>So, what do i miss? Any ideas, hints?
