ssh-1.2.30 compile problem on Solaris 2.6

Thanks to all who replied. I made 2 changes and now have my ssh

compiled. I had been using gcc 2.95.2 which was installed from a

sunfreeware.com package. We don't pay for the Sun compiler by default so

getting gcc in a package was my only choice. Also, trying to be heads up I

had set CFLAGS before running ./configure. In this case that could be

causing my problems since several replys indicated that using

-I/usr/include is a problem. Also mentioned was that someone has had

problems with gcc 2.95 so perhaps going back to 2.8.1 would help.

So....I uninstalled gcc 2.95 and put gcc 2.8.1 in it's place. I unset

CFLAGS and re-ran configure and then make. SUCCESS!!

Other things mentioned:

Use OpenSSH - I was installing SSH1 and SSH2 to have support for both as

one of our machines at the univ. level does. I wish I was a Unix only

admin so I had more time to spend on these things.

Use Google for searching:-) - I do but must not have worded my query quite

right to get the informative hits given to me.

Check this page:http://www.unixguide.net/sun/faq/

several reports in SunMgr archive say that you, probably, have gcc not

properly installed.

Solaris2 FAQ also says that:

http://www.funet.fi/pub/unix/Solaris/documents/solaris2.html#q5.7 - I

did search one of the archives available I must've picked the wrong one.
