Solstice Backup 5.1, L280 jukebox & 64-bit Solaris 7

* Thanks to James Kwong <kwong@solar.acast.nova.edu> and

           Bill Hewitt (cst)<bill@mail.cogsci.ed.ac.uk>

who pointed out that it works fine under solstice backup 5.5.1

that comes as part of the Easy Access

Server version 2.0 disk that comes with Solaris 7 5/99. (which

we had as well as the 5.1 disk)...

* Solstice Backup IS currently supported under Solaris 7 AND both 32 and 64 bit

* You cant use /etc/LGTOuscsi/inquire to probe scsi devices when you

have this problem it doesn't find

    anything.

* Chan Cao <ctcao@fastech.com> suggested using isainfo -kv u'll see

whether 64 or 32 bit kernel modules are supported.

This returned "64-bit sparcv9 kernel modules " on our system - seems

it will support either.

* There now seems to be two lus versions installed

/usr/kernel/drv/lus - 32 bit

/usr/kernel/drv/sparcv9/lus - 64 bit

plus a lus.conf with both.

This definitely looks a lot better to start the configuration with.

Thanks,

Sue
