su problem - SunOS 4.1.3

The original problem was that su wouldn't, with a message of either:

        su: setgid: Not owner

or:

        setgroups: Not owner

        su: initgroups failed

With my hat off to the folks who responded (see below) the solution was to reset

the permissions of the su command to:

        -rwsr-xr-x 1 root 6968 Oct 23 1991 /usr/bin/su

as it should have been, and was previously.

I guess I'm not back up to speed, vacation's seem to turn my brain to mush, as I

hadn't thought to check the permissions before I turned to the list for help.
