PROBLEM: my sparcs wouldn't complete booting on 4.1.1 when the kernel

was configured to swap locally to an internal disk. (specifically

sd0b).

SOLUTION:

I had the wrong config line in the kernel. I was using the old format

of:

  config vmunix root on type nfs swap on sd0b

and I should have been using:

  config vmunix root on type nfs swap on type spec sd0b

which is a change from 4.0.3 to 4.1.1. I probably could have figured

it out if I had spent some time in the manuals, but since I was being

lazy, my thanks to everyone who responded.
