This is to summarize the answers I got on my original question on how

to get rid of the OpenWin mouse-pointer when leaving the environment:

   1) Install the "gxcursor" program, and execute it when leaving OW.

   2) Execute the "reset_colormap" command when leaving OW.

   3) Execute the "reset" command when leaving OW

I have only tried the first one (that's what I got first), and it works.
