Volume Manager 3.2 leaves 1 cylinder unallocated by default when adding
disks to diskgroups. There are 2 solutions, specify the offset for the
public region, or add the patch from Sun for Veritas 3.2 (113201) and
then use the old_layout attribute to vxdisksetup

/usr/lib/vxvm/bin/vxdisksetup -i cxtxdx old_layout

Original message:

I'm installing veritas 3.2 during a sol8 jumpstart onto 18gb d1000
drives on an e10k domain. Afterwards when I log in and add disks to the
root disk group so I can mirror the root drive this is the partition
table Veritas lays down...it is 1 cylinder short, partition 4 should
start on cyln 1 not 2. As a result I can't mirror the root disk.

Anyone have any ideas?

Again, thanks to all those who helped, I looked like a hero walking into
the office after 10 days of vacation (finishing with 5 days on Bourbon
Street in New Orleans for New Years) and having a solution to this
problem by 9:30amCST.
