I have an E4000 running 2.7 and have been requested by my networking
group to research the possibility of implementing IEEE 802.1 VLAN
tagging on this machine. I started my search at sunsolve and determined
that the x1045a Gigabit v1.1 SBus running vge-driver rev=3D2.0.24+ =
would
seem to meet the requirement. ref:=20

This document indicates that the 802.1q support is dropped in v2.0 of
the Gigabit card. Does anyone know the reason for this change? Was
there a problem with the v1.1 implementation or is the feature simply
lagging the release of the new hardware? Thanks in advance for any light
you can shine on these questions. I will summarize.
